Nejmanova & Thomas named Boston Pizza athletes of the week

X-Women volleyball middle hitter Aneta Nejmanova was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 11, 2012. Aneta, a first year Human Kinetics student from Prague, Czech Republic, played a strong game for the X-Women in their 3-2 victory over Saint Mary’s Saturday night. Aneta scored 29 points in the five-set win as she had 16 kills and 3 service aces. She also contributed 5 digs and 10 blocks, playing very well at the net. She has made an immediate impact on the X-Women roster in only her first season of play.

X-Men basketball guard Terry Thomas was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 11, 2012. Terry, a third year Arts student from East Preston, N.S. led all scorers in the game in the X-Men’s 105-97 victory over Saint Mary’s Saturday in their first AUS regular season game. Terry scored 28 points and also contributed 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocked shots. He was a CIS second team All-Canadian last season, as well as an AUS first team all-star.
