Five X-Men soccer athletes were named AUS all-stars for the 2021 season including Seamus MacDonald, Josh Read, Nick Aquino, Kyle Cordeiro and Lewis Dye.
On Sunday afternoon at STFX Stadium the STFX X-Men secured three valuable points against a determined Mount Allison Mounties squad with a 3-0 shutout victory.
The StFX X-Men (7-2-0) recorded a 1-0 win over the Acadia Axemen (1-8-0) in a Saturday afternoon matchup at StFX Stadium, further solidifying their first place ranking atop the AUS standings.
Despite Acadia’s pressure in the X-Men end in the closing minutes of the match, the U SPORTS No. 4 ranked StFX X-Men held on to a 1-0 win to remain on top of the AUS standings with a 6-1-0 record.
The energy at StFX Stadium was electric as the U SPORTS No. 4 ranked X-Men took on the No. 3 ranked Capers in a Friday night match under the lights. Although the X-Men came away with a difficult 3-0 loss, the stands were packed with StFX soccer fans whose spirit and enthusiasm mimicked the environment seen at professional games.
The STFX X-Men improved to 3-0 early in the AUS season with a 2-0 blanking over the Universite de Aigles Bleus Saturday afternoon at Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium.
