ANTIGONISH, NS - The STFX X-Men picked up their sixth win a row with a hard fought 4-1 victory over the visiting Moncton Aigles Bleus on Sunday afternoon at STFX Stadium.
The X-Men put themselves out front early, with Kyle Cordeiro collecting a pass from Noah MacIntyre and striking one home from the top of the box six minutes into the match.
Moncton tied the game up nine minutes later, with Kautchy Emmanuel-Marie A-D ANDJI-YAPI finishing off a long run with a low shot from in close after a through ball from Abdourahmane Kasse.
Things remained tied until the 48th minute, when Cordeiro notched his second of the match, slotting one low from in tight after a great pass from Gabriel Pizza Player of the Game Logan Rieck.
Isaac VanWychen made it 3-1 a minute later, tapping one in after another top tier service from Rieck.
Rieck finished off the scoring with 20 minutes left, hitting the top corner with a blast from 20 yards out after a feed from VanWychen.
The X-Men hit the pitch next on October 3, when they visit the CBU Capers.
