King wins gold in 3000m at AUS championship
The STFX X-Men earned three medals from the Bell AUS Championship this past weekend, one of each color - gold, silver and bronze.
Saint John, NB – The STFX X-Men earned three medals from the Bell AUS Championship this past weekend, one of each color - gold, silver and bronze.

Second year runner Brett King (Wolfville, NS) was the gold medal winner of the 3000m race. Liam Patterson (Toronto, ON), in his third season with the X-Men, claimed silver in the 1000m race, while the X-Men 4x800m relay team were the bronze medalists. Those team members consisted of Liam McCullagh, Luke MacDonald, Mathew Lawton and Brett King.
The X-Men finished fifth overall in the team standings with 29 points. Dalhousie claimed the AUS banner in first place with 130 points. Saint Mary's was second with 79 and UNB was third with 73 and Moncton fourth with 45. Rounding out the team standings were Memorial (26), UPEI (11) and Cape Breton (7).
Over the two-day event, X-Men runners competed in the 1000m, 1500m and 3000m races, along with the 4x400m and 4x800 relay events. Complete STFX results follow.
