2018-19 StFX X-Women Soccer News

Atlantic University Sport released the 2019 fall sports schedules today, including women’s rugby, men’s football, men’s and women’s soccer as well as men’s and women’s cross country. Hosts for the 2019 fall championships were also confirmed.

X-Women midfielder Mercy Myles and striker Kelsey Ellis were honoured as U SPORTS second team All-Canadians at the awards gala in conjunction with the U SPORTS championship Wednesday night.

Four X-Women were honoured as AUS soccer all-stars including midfielder Mercy Myles and striker Kelsey Ellis as AUS 1st team all-stars, and defender Olivia Czipf and midfielder Chloe Brennan as AUS second team all-stars.

The StFX X-Women will be playing SMU in the AUS quarter-finals on Thursday at 2:00 pm. The X-Men received a bye into the semifinals and they will await a quarterfinal winning opponent in a 7:00 pm game Friday night at 7:00 pm.

The game was a fluid display of football that distinguished itself not only by the skill of the players, but also their intelligence to read and react to the ebbs and flows of the match.

The Saint Mary’s Huskies tied the StFX X-Women 1-1 in AUS women’s soccer action on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Huskies Stadium.

The StFX X-Women defeated the UNB Reds 1-0 Sunday afternoon in to begin their AUS season with two opening weekend wins, while the Reds’ record falls to 0-2.
